Please Pray for Our Men and Woman

Today was a busy and odd day. I had to drop by church to pick some things up. With VBS next week life is crazy! And a text message came through. I turned white as a sheet and then almost cried. My Pastor said, "You Okay?" The message read a little weird, but the email that followed made sense. the first text made it sound like we had lost our friend John who is serving in Afghanistan

Good morning all,
This morning I received a call from 7th Marine, 2nd battalion headquarters during which they informed me that John had, earlier this day, been in a fire fight and received a single hit to his lower chest area. Because he was wearing a flack jacket, the bullet did not penetrate. His chest and abdominal areas are severely bruised and sore. He was treated in the field by coremen and later by a doctor at the base. No other Marines were hurt in the fight. He has had ultrasounds of his torso and will be watched for fluid build up in his lungs and heart. He has been released and will have restrictive duty for two days.

I have talked with him by sat. phone and he is in good spirits and responding as a typical Marine, suggesting it was just another typical day and nothing to worry about.

It is clear that although John cannot give any information about his where-a-bouts, he has left the relative safety of the British base and is at his duty station.

We, I'm sure , you are all praying for his safety and that of the other service men and women and we all should be thankful for those who set their lives aside and put themselves in harms way to keep us safe.

So, if you would please pray for John and all the other men and woman who serve our country so that we may have all of the freedom's we do!

Absolutely, my cousin is over there on his second tour. All the prayers they can get are needed.
